I hope everybody is ready for some PENANCE!
Let’s be honest as well. This world, along with every one of us occupying it, is in desperate need of penance. Our slothful adherence to “cradle-to-the-grave-security” will need to be supplanted with manger-to-the-cross redemptive suffering.
A Welcome Alternative to “Wimpianity”
It’s time to knock it off with the wimpianity and milquetoast garbage. Let’s get real, embrace the pain, select worthwhile things to surrender for Lent, and unite ourselves to the sufferings of Christ. If you think we will be able to reverse the misery we’ve endured (since last year’s Lent) by soft-balling it any further, then you fail to see the scope of the problem.
