SSPX Non-Belligerence: Part 2

Bergoglio teasing the SSPX.

As I follow no leader save Christ, so I communicate with none but your blessedness, that is with the Chair of Peter. For this, I know, is the rock on which the church is built!

– St. Jerome, Letter 15 to Pope St. Damasus I (376/377 AD)

St. Jerome so revered the Petrine See’s majesty, he even conceded to the pope over including the bible’s deuterocanonical books, which he would have otherwise excluded, doubtful of their inspiration.

Do we find the same commitment among the preponderance of SSPX members? Do they view the Papal Throne, vacant or occupied, imprisoned or liberated, ailing or robust, with such unwavering esteem as the Church’s most illustrious scriptural Doctor?

Well, imagine you were a member of a priestly society, one dedicated to the patronage of a great pope, no less. Yet, despite that, you deemed it a “waste of time” to worry over the identity of the current pontiff. In other words, you joined a religious organization devoted to honoring a former pope, who unabashedly executed the Church’s highest office, but no longer believed his position to be relevant.

Lo, the incredible mental turmoil this must produce!

Alas, this is precisely the predominant condition of the Society of Saint Pius X. While I cannot confirm every member experiences this dismal mindset, it appears to afflict most of them (including the nebulous and inconsistent “resistance” elements).

This society, as a whole, adheres to the position that we should not devote any further energy to questioning the legitimacy of the “Francis pontificate.” Such overwhelming mental exertion, according to them, would only subtract from one’s ability to grow holier, or accomplish other important objectives (i.e., mowing the lawn?).

So, the Society, which supposedly loves and honors the memory of Pope St. Pius X . . . no longer cares who occupies (or usurped) that man’s prominent role.

This brief article will explore why that is and provide closure to my previous edition: Has the SSPX Become Tired and Non-Belligerent?

SSPX: Refuses to Examine the Specifics of the Bergoglio Problem

Whenever you speak to an SSPX member regarding Bergoglio, you’ll notice how they’re most careful to steer the discussion away from the fine points. Instead, they insist on directing the conversation over to a vague platform, boiler-plate piety, and maybe a few words about Fatima.

Why do they refuse to dig into the nitty-gritty of what we believe invalidates the so-called “Francis Pontificate”? Is it because they cannot refute the evidence?

SSPX members are hesitant to address my specific questions, for example, regarding the Mazza Thesis on Pope Benedict’s invalid resignation, which nullified the potential of a 2013 conclave. Of the various responses I received from my last article (including one bishop), none of them would examine the specific reasons many of us consider Jorge Bergoglio an antipope.

They address none of the following.

  • The Invalid Resignation by Pope Benedict XVI → this is the antecedent factor, eliminating the possibility he had any successor in 2013
    • Therefore, even if the “2013 conclave” had elected Pope Pius XIII, The Great, rather than the loathsome Bergoglio, even that papacy would have been null and void.
  • Untold Volumes of Bergoglian Heresies → while Church doctors are clear that just one formal heresy would entirely separate any man from the Church (let alone the papacy)
  • Bergoglio’s an Obvious Villain in League with Freemasons → as several deep background sources have shown, including cardinals from the Vatican (alleged by Fr. Paul Kramer)
  • Bergoglio Heads a Twisted “Synodal Church” → which we might think of as the inverse of Vatican I, a fulfillment of the aggressive counter-council, Vatican II.
  • Moreover, it doesn’t require a “future pope” to determine these things when reason, evidence, and unassailable logic suffice well enough.

Given all that, I must surmise that refusing to examine this (more than superficially) means that SSPX members cannot endure the unmistakable conclusion: nullification of Bergoglio’s phony papacy. It would force them to acknowledge the Vatican’s fraud, rendering themselves despised outsiders yet again (following the inevitable Antichurch retribution).

Current SSPXers, by and large, weary from years of “schism” allegations, demonstrate little to no interest in returning to a pariah status. This is most unfortunate, as we recall Jesus’ beatific words, “Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

How Does an SSPX Member Cope With All This?

. . . how you respond to that “Dissonance Up” decision node . . . makes all the difference in the world.

It may be that many Society members have understood Bergoglio’s illegitimacy privately. Yet, since they can no longer endure being outcasts, they possess very few options for coping with such an unpleasant reality. It leads them to ignore it, bottle up their frustrations, and never present their opinions publicly.

If I’m correct (that most SSPX clergy take this approach), then what can they do to resolve the cognitive dissonance of offering Holy Mass in communion with a false pontiff? They seem to gravitate toward one solitary coping mechanism.

  • Kick The Can Down the Road: “wait for a future pope to resolve this; we don’t have the authority to judge the pope; blah, blah, blah.” It’s either that or continue languishing in cognitive dissonance.

Next, let us consider one of several elephants in the SSPX room.

With the Society’s current recognize-and-resist strategy, what can we say distinguishes them from their rivals, the FSSP (who I jokingly dub The Fraternal Society of Obedience)?

They now resemble mirror images of one another (at least as it pertains to handling the evil Vatican). Certainly, the disciples of Archbishop Lefebvre did not endure all those antagonisms and schism accusations (since 1988) just to subsume the weak, non-combative policy of the Hyper-Obedience Fraternity.

What Would it Take to Change Their Minds?

Under what conditions would the SSPX acknowledge there is an emergency regarding the papacy? What would it take for Society members to notice the Church has its cassock on fire? We can address this quandary with the most common solution to many of man’s slothful problems: PAIN & A HUGE SLAP TO THE FACE.

Perhaps something like this might catch their attention.

If, by chance, some old woman becomes universally/peacefully crammed onto the Throne of Peter, will the SSPX continue its policy of reticence? Will they bide their time, make prudent moves, and wait for Pope Susan’s successor to remedy everything? I sure hope that doesn’t deliver us into the hands of Popes Sheila, Karen, Sylvia, and so forth. I doubt we could withstand Pope Hillary.

Of course, let us beseech God that it wouldn’t take such an obvious catastrophe to motivate men to investigate the modernist/Bergoglian disease rapidly metastasizing in the Church. Most of the Society understands some of the systemic problems stemming from the evil Vatican II. However, they often stop short of connecting the Vatican II scheme with the coercive and unlawful installment of Bergoglio.

Some Things ARE a Waste of Time

Certain mental exercises are indeed a waste of time.

If, for example, you devote inordinate amounts of time to discovering the location of the Ark of the Old Covenant, you would take away from other, more profitable activities. After all, Divine Revelation shows us it was hidden on a mountain (with the remains of Moses), and will stay there until the end of days.

Nevertheless, traditional Catholics, formed in the true religion, recognize that the papacy is a core component of the New & Eternal Covenant, established by Jesus Christ. That alone implies that we owe it serious attention, including the identity of its occupant, while always wary of potential usurpers.

Moreover, when I say “usurpers,” the worst of them all would be those intent on destroying souls; wounding the Church mortally as Jorge Bergoglio endeavors. For he is the first antipope, among all 30 or 40 of them historically, to possess a vehement hatred of the Catholic religion, evident by his many awful beliefs and behaviors.

Lay People: Stay Vigilant & Strive to Convince SSPX Priests

Perhaps it isn’t non-belligerence that stifles the SSPX. Maybe they still haven’t been convinced of the scope and severity of this crisis. In this scenario, the duty is ours to convince them of what’s at stake: the scandalization of the faithful, up to and including apostasy.

Then again, the “tired” part could be correct if the SSPX has depleted its energy after battling modernism for so long. This would be most disappointing since there is no shortage of wicked men who would take advantage of a lethargic disposition. History is replete with opportunistic villains (secular politics especially) who love to raise Hell as soon as they think you won’t waste your time worrying about them.

Are you sure it doesn’t matter who our leaders are, or that it’s “prudent” to ignore whenever false ones arrive? Some are legitimate, many are not. Would disregarding this reality help us obey the commandment Our Lord gave to be wise as serpents and simple as doves?

No, it is incumbent on any sensible person, Catholic or not, to at least keep their wits about them. The safety net of “I don’t watch the news” only operates for those living in cloistered communities. The rest of us must accept the hazardous spiritual duty (given the state of the world), keep our eyes peeled for wolves, and learn to distinguish good from evil.

Conclusion – Pray, Do Penance, But DO NOT BECOME SILENT

Uh oh . . . better do what he says.

Many contemporary Catholics believe interior acts of piety (such as contemplative prayer) must remain wholly separated from all exterior actions, almost to the elimination of the latter. For the truly exhausted and non-belligerent, this includes any effort to oppose, criticize, or alert others to the dangerous, illegitimate Bergoglian regime of spiritual terrorists. Such misbelief represents pusillanimity, error, sloth, and is above all, grounded in the condemned heresy of quietism.

We must not allow the Catholic remnant to putrefy because of the silence of good men. I include the SSPX in that mix, as they’ve demonstrated significant piety and generosity with administering the sacraments. Also, I doubt they wish to diminish themselves to the role of mere sacramental vending machines.

Fans of this page know what to do, but if you’re new (maybe even a recovering zombie), then I recommend readers to work on the following.

  • Pray the Rosary every day (15 decades) and offer some of it for SSPX clergy.
  • Speak to other Catholic friends to make sure they understand the Church-versus-Antichurch problem.
  • Bring these issues to the attention of your local priests, lest they fall into non-belligerence.
  • Always remember that Our Lady’s message at Fatima, far from an insistence on silence and complicity, is in fact a call to action; to fight against the bastard modernists.
  • Don’t give into discouragement because you are not alone in what you think, contrary to the mind-control propaganda of treacherous men in Rome.
